Dear RCSC parents:
The Memorial Day tournament is coming up soon and the club needs your help. Traditionally, we have asked each family to work at least two, 1-1/2 hour shifts during the course of the weekend.
We have hired someone to prepare, serve and sell the food this year. We will be receiving a percentage of the profits without the hassles and the hundreds of volunteer hours that it took to run the food concession.
We understand that many of you will want to know when your kids are playing before you commit to a particular time to volunteer, but there are jobs that happen before the games start (like setup on Friday afternoon/evening), and other jobs that you can do while watching your kids’ games (field marshalling), so you can start thinking about when you might want to put in your time.
Field Marshals: Kevin Kiefaber is looking for parents who can take on a few responsibilities while watching the games. Field marshals represent the club at each game in the tournament, to make sure all the equipment is there, that things go smoothly, and that the official score gets reported to the tournament officials. Kevin will be out of town the week before the tournament, so he needs people to sign up early. If we can get a mix of parents from all age groups and boys’ and girls’ teams, we should be able to work out a schedule so that you can do your volunteering while you watch your own kids’ games. If you’re interested in being a field marshal, email Kevin at kief71@comcast.net ( by Sunday May 18th, if at all possible)
Set Up, Parking, T Shirt Sales, Tear Down and Hourly Maintenance: Gail Buck is again organizing the volunteers to handle all of these jobs. The game schedule should be out very soon, and we recommend that you volunteer early to get the times that work best for you. Gail will send out a list of times and jobs on the day that you receive your game schedule; and you should then email her at buckpratt@comcast.net to sign up. |
