We’re super excited to launch a new feature that will help make the tryout process as seamless as possible for Admins and prospective players. You can now have two sets of custom program questions and custom fee/discount questions; one for prospective players and then another additional set for the players once they make the team! This means no more questions from parents like “why do I have to fill-in all this darn program information BEFORE my child has even made the team??”.
With the new setup, Admins can create two tiers of custom tryout program questions and custom fee/discount questions. The first set is asked to all prospective players during the initial tryout registration and then once a player has made the team, they will see the second set of program questions. This will keep players who don’t end up making the team from having to fill-in all of their registration details as if they have already received a spot.
Please Note: For custom fee/discount questions asked during the tryout registration, the system will still apply the fee/discount during the division registration (after the participant has made the team).
It’s easy to take advantage of this new feature. Start by creating a tryout program like normal. On Step 2, just choose when to ask your questions – during the tryout registration vs. the division registration (once they’ve made the team). It’s that easy!
1. Double check that you have selected when custom program questions and custom fee/discount questions will be asked by clicking â€śEditâ€ť next to each question.Â We recommend running a test registration so you can ensure you have set up your questions correctly.
2. Custom fee/discount questions asked during the tryout portion will still apply the fee/discount during the division registration (once the player has made the team).
3. All questions asked will still be included during team building and on any associated reports.
4. This update is currently only for custom questions and custom fees/discounts questions.
