25th Annual Arsenal Shootout
Applications are now being accepted online for the 2009 Augusta Arsenal Spring Shootout, February 14-15, 2009. The tournament, in its 25th year, is open to boys and girls ages U9-U14. The tournament generally attracts teams from the states of, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida.

Augusta Arsenal u15 Boys win Aiken Tournament... Again!
For the fourth year in a row, the Augusta Arsenal 94 Boys are the Champions of the Aiken Soccer Tournament. With wins over the GA/SC Bulls (8-0), Inter Atlanta (2-1) and a 3-0 shutout in the Championship match against Carolina FC, the Arsenal boys continued their success in this tournament.

Arsenal '96 Girls Green Win Aiken Cup
The Arsenal U13 Arsenal Girls Green Team won their Division of the Aiken Cup. The girls tied the GASC Bulls 2-2 to begin the weekend and then won three in a row including a 5-1 win over LCSC Blue Thunder, a 2-1 win over Carolina FC 95 and a 1-0 victory over the bulls in the Championship match.

Arsenal '96 Boys Gold Win GFC Invitational
The Arsenal U13 Boys won their first tournament of the season in Atlanta at the Georgia FC Invitational Tournament. The Boys finished the tournament with a record of 3-0-1 and defeated FC Atlanta in the championship match by the score of 1-0.

Online registration will be open, June 12, for U9-U13 players who are accepting invitations to play on an Arsenal Team for the 2008-09 season. Signing Day for these age groups is Thursday, June 12 between 5:30 and 8:00pm at the Arsenal Clubhouse. Arsenal U16 Girls Premier Win GSA Super Cup
The Augusta Arsenal '92 Girls Premier team won the championship of the U17 division of the GSA Super Cup over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The girls defeated AFC Lightning U17 and Henry County Thunder U17 in the opening round. The team then beat defending state champion GSA Phoenix '92 in the semifinal on their way to claiming the championship with a penalty kick shootout victory over GSA Phoenix '91.

Bennett Yort Selected For 4th National Program Event
U14 Arsenal 93 Gold Player, Bennett Yort, just returned from his fouth outing with the US National Youth Team. Bennett first participated with the Youth National Program in August at a camp in Boston, MA and then again in November at an event in Disney World. He spent a week in Guadalahara, Mexico with the team early this spring and this past week he attended National Camp at the Home Depot Center in California. Bennett was originally selected for the program through his performance on the Georgia State Olympic Development Team at Region III Camp held in Mississippi last July.

U14 Girls Gold Win Charlotte United Tournament
The Augusta Arsenal 93 Gold Girls won their division of the Julian Brown Memorial Cup sponsored by Charlotte United Soccer Club this past weekend. The team defeated South Charlotte 93 White, 5-1 and Twin City 93 Blue, 1-0 in the opening round games Saturday. The girls defeated Pleasure Island 93 Hurricanes, 3-2 in the semi-final game and won the championship with a 5-3 victory over Matthews USA 93 Gold in the final.

Three Teams win Arsenal Shootout Titles
The U14 Boys Gold, U13 Girls and U12 Girls all won Shootout Tournament Titles this past weekend in Augusta. The Augusta Arsenal Shootout, in its 24th year, included over 75 teams from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. In addition to the three tournament Champions, four more Arsenal teams were tournament Finalists including the U14 Girls Gold, U13 Boys Gold, U12 Girls and U11 Boys.

16 Boys Premier CASL Shootout Champions
The U16 Boys Premier team won their second CASL Shootout Title in three years this past weekend. The team defeated Chesapeake United Armada 6-1, Virginia Rush Swoosh 2-0 and Chesterfield United SC Elite 4-2 in opening round play. The boys won the championship with a 2-0 vistiry over the West Virginia SC Rowdies.

16 Boys Premier Win Germantown Invitational Tournament
The U16 Boys Premier Team went undefeated and unscored upon through round robin play on their way to the Germantown Invitational Tournament Title. The boys defeated Chicago Fire Juniors 92, 3-0, tied Mississippi Fire 92 White, 0-0 and beat Ohio Select FC, 1-0 in opening round play. In the final the boys defeated the five-time Indiana State Champion, FC Pride 92 Premier by the score of 3-2.

Arsenal U16 Girls Win Atlanta Cup
The U16 Girls Premier won the Atlanta Cup A Division going undefeated on the weekend. The girls won their first two games 4-1 over North Meck and 3-1 over Cobb FC before tying Roswell Santos 1-1. The girls defeated Bayside Storm 1-0 in the semifinals and won the championship with a 1-0 win over Concorde Fire South Elite.

Arsenal Claims Seven Championships at Aiken Cup
The Augusta Arsenal kicked off the 2007 Fall Season with a clubwide event at neighboring Aiken Soccer Club in the annual Aiken Cup. The teams fought poor weather all weekend but in the end completed the tournament with seven teams winning their respective divisions and seven more teams fininshed as finalists. The Aiken Cup Champions were; U19 Girls Blue, U15 Girls Blue, U13 Girls Blue, U10 Girls Blue, U19 Boys Gold, U16 Boys Blue and U14 Boys Gold. The Finalists were; U16 Girls Premier, U14 Girls Gold, U12 Girls Blue, U11 Girls Blue, U11 Girls Green, U15 Boys Blue and U11 Boys Blue.

Bennett Yort Selected For National Camp
U14 Arsenal Player, Bennett Yort, is spending this week at the US National Team Camp in Boston, MA. Bennett was selected through his performance on the Georgia State Olympic Development Team at Region III Camp held in Mississippi in mid July. Yort is one of three players chosen from the 1994 age group from the state of Georgia.

U14 Gunners Win Jekyll Island Junior Showcase
The U14 (rising U15) Arsenal boys team, playing in the top division, won the 2007 Jekyll Island Junior Shootout with an undefeated record. The Arsenal defeated Clay County Rangers (FL) 2-1, Tallahassee United (FL) 2-1, and tied Arsenal Rome (GA) 1-1. The Gunners saw Rome in the finals again and won 1-0 to claim the championship. The tournament performance culminated an impressive GYSA spring season as the U14 Boys finished with a record of 7-2-1 in Classic II and tied for the second highest point total in the division.
