Going to a tournament?

Coaches and Administrators,

Be sure to check to see if your tournament is AYSA Sanctioned. AYSA is no longer able to extend insurance coverage to any event that is not sanctioned by AYSA or US Youth.  This includes functions like the Food City Tournament, which is not sanctioned by any youth entity, and tournaments that are declared “open” but are sanctioned only by US Club Soccer, such as Nomads.  If you take your team to any tournament or event that is not sanctioned by a US Youth Soccer entity, your players will not have AYSA medical coverage and your coaches and administrators will not have medical or liability coverage.  It is your responsibility to:

  1. Inform your parents that the AYSA coverage is not valid for the event
  2. Secure necessary coverage from the tournament or another entity.
  3. The CDO Tournament is a sanctioned AYSA tournament.

Changes to the PCJSL loan player policy

A new rule governing loan players is now in place and was passed at the November PCJSL meeting.  It states that players who are rostered to State League teams may not play as a loan player for any PCJSL team during a regular league game.  This rules is in place only for league games, not tournaments or other events.

The League allows loan players in game for U11 and older teams. These players must be listed on the game card. The maximum you can borrow is five; the maximum size of a team using loan players is 15. Loan players are allowed as follows:  If you have 5 to 7 players from your own team, you can use up to 5 loan players.  If you have 8 players from your team, you can use  up to 4 loan players.  If you have 9 to 12 players from your team, you can use up to 3 loan players, if you have 13 players from your own team, you can use up to 2 loan players.  If you have 14 players from your team, you can use up to 1 loan player.  If you have 15 to 18 players from your team, no loan players are allowed.
Loan Player Paperwork requirements: If the loan player(s) is from your own club, you need only the player card and signed medical release form. If the loan player(s) are from a club other than your own, you will need a completed loan player form (available at www.pcjsl.com under forms) with the signature of the parent and/or guardian of the child and the signature of both coaches of the two teams involved. A league official does NOT have to sign the loan player form. You must also have the player card and a signed medical release form.
