Independent Teams

AC Cugini has open spots for independent teams wishing to play in WAGS, NCSL, and ODSL — which the club plans to fill. Cugini welcomes coaches and parents outside the club who have interest in forming new teams orbringing their current team to Cugini. These independent teams have the option of joining Cugini's 11-month program or arranging a separate program and fees.

Fees for 11-month Program

The annual Cugini travel team tuition fee for the 11-month program year 2009-2010 is $1775. The 11-month program runs from August 1 2009 to June 30 2010. The tuition includes Cugini club fees (fall and spring), professional training (summer, fall, winter, spring); goalkeeper training; travel league games (fall & spring); travel league fees (fall and spring); insurance; VYSA and US Youth Soccer membership; all Fairfax County user fees.
  • Scholarships are available to players with financial need.
  • Extended payment options also available for players not on scholarship.
  • Fees are prorated for players joining mid year.
Tryouts
To play on any Cugini travel team, players must first be invited to join the team. Typically, a minimum of two tryouts will be required to assess a prospective player's abilities. Parents must read the AC Cugini Travel Team Registration Manual, review the Cugini website, and ask Cugini officials questions BEFORE having their child register for a Cugini travel team.
  • Cugini does not post a specific date for open tryouts. Tryouts are held year round during regular travel team practices. Parents may contact Cugini at anytime to ask about open spots on our travel teams.
  • As Cugini is an Italian soccer school, first and foremost, and thus committed to the long-term development of each player, current players on Cugini travel teams do not have to tryout each season to hold their spot.  Cugini does not cut current team members  just to make way for a "better" player.

Tryout days and times are available on the Tryouts Page.
