Q: How to I avoid paying a processing fee when I register online?

A:  The credit card company charges 3.4% to run your credit card.  To avoid this fee, click on “pay by check“ when you get to the payment part of the registration process.  Then simply mail in your check once you have completed your online registration.

Q: I want to sign up for camp in June and August? It appears there are 2 different websites. How do I register for both?

A: To register for camp in June with Bryant Camps, LLC, click here

To register for camp in July and August with Browning Camps, click here

You will have to create a user login and password for each site.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Q: Would it be repetitive for a camper to sign up for consecutive weeks of camp?

A: Not at all!  We recommend that if campers are able, they sign up for more than one week to allow reinforcement of techniques.  While each week will follow the same progression of skills instruction, our counselors ensure that repeat campers continue to learn, in a stimulating way, while being reminded of the tennis fundamentals.

Q: Where do I take my child on the first day of camp?

A: Swoop’s Starters (Ages 5-9) will train at the SAAC on the Clairmont Campus. For directions click here

Swoop’s High Flyers (ages 10-13) and Eagles in Training (Ages 14+) will train at the WoodPec on the main Emory Campus. For directions click here

On the first day of camp, you will need to check in at the registration table. If you are fully registered, check-in should only take a second so parking may not be necessary. Please be flexible though, because both the Clairemont Campus and the main Emory campus need to keep the roads clear and sometimes parents will be required to park in the deck and walk-up on the first day of camp.

Q: What happens when it rains?

A:  At the SAAC, activities could range from conditioning exercises and indoor soccer in the gym to watching tennis videos and learning tennis strokes or strategies.  At the Woodpec, campers will be taken to play on the indoor tennis courts.

Q: How many campers will be placed with each counselor?

A: We strive for a 6 to 1 camper - counselor ratio. The maximum amount of campers we would ever put with a counselor is 10.

Q: Will my camper have the same counselor every day?

A:  Groups will be switched around frequently.  If you have any special requests, please communicate with us.

Q: My child has never played tennis before. Will there be other campers at her/his level?  OR My child is 15 and likes to be around kids his age… OR My child is 9 and is very advanced… Will there be other campers at his/her age and level?

A: We have something for everyone at our camp!  Typically, children ages 9 and under are at the beginner and advanced beginner levels.   Therefore, we group them together at the SAAC. If you have a child who is under age 9 and an advanced player, please speak to the director after you register. More than likely, we will place your child at the WoodPec with the older players. At the Woodpec for ages 10 and up, we usually have campers at all three levels (including beginners).  We would not place an older child at the SAAC if he/she is a beginner. And we try not to mix the beginner Eagles in Training with Swoop’s High Flyers either.   If you believe your child has not been placed in the correct location or group, communicate with us when you receive your email confirmation or after the first day of camp so we can make adjustments.

Q: I signed up two children for camp. One child is 12 and one is 7 (so they are at different sites). How do I get them to both places at the same time?

A: We are flexible with late afternoon pick-ups if you are in this situation.  Morning should not be a problem because we have a 30 minute window for drop-off…. Counselors are available for drop-off at both sites from 8:30am-9:00am with camp officially beginning at 9am.

Q: I went through the online registration process and opted to pay by check. Where do I send the check and how will I know it was received?

A:  Please send the check to: Amy Bryant - 113 Hood Circle Decatur, GA 30030. You will receive an email confirmation when your check is received.

Q: What kind of safety precautions do you use at camp?

A: We have a trainer on staff all day to treat and triage injuries.  Any camper with a serious injury or illness will be taken to the Emory University Hospital immediately. The camper’s parent or emergency contact will be called for every incident , regardless of severity.  To read more about our safety procedures please click here.

Q: Do you recommend that a 5 or 6 year old child sign up for the full-day camp session?

A: Yes! As long as he/she can swim, every aged camper should be engaged for the entire full-day of camp!
