Financial
(John Kraft):
  • Presented a Profit & Loss Previous Year Comparison.
  • Reports that about 35 players have registered and not yet paid.
President
(Frank Muhl):
  • Requests that the board members look over their job descriptions and update as necessary.
  • Pat Cingal has resigned as Director of Select. The board votes unanimously to accept his resignation. This position will be up for nominations at April meeting.
  • Would like to have a refund policy in place before the spring season begins.
Vice President
(Rick Rodgers):
  • The city suggests that that the parking lot be completed in phases. WASA would need to request money from the city council.
  • The city will be in charge of opening and closing the restrooms daily.
  • The water fountain will be replaced by the city to the side of the concession stand.
  • Rick will be inventorying the contents of the concession stand. He requests that all merchandise be accounted for and used as board sees fit.
Recreation
(Sherri Schloss):
  • Reports that 319 players have signed up and been formed into 28 teams.
  • The season will begin April 19th.

Communications
(Mike Falanga):
  • Will begin to do a bulk email a couple days before general meetings to improve attendance.
Coaching/Player Development
(Mel McRory):
  • a uniform pick up date will be scheduled.
  • Mel will talk to Dave about the cut off date for registering in house players, field schedules, and training ideas with Ross.
Tournament
(Pat Cingel):
  • This position is considered open since Nov. 30, 2007. An email will be put out and the website updated to post for nominations for this position.
Fundraising

  • Position Open- will be posted on website
  • Rick Rodgers will be overseeing fundraising until the position is filled.
  • He would like the concession stand to be ran using volunteers with a volunteer manager coordinating scheduling.
  • He requests adding Sam’s Club and Wal Mart to the vendors list. Board agrees.
  • Requests a procedure be put into place for use of the money drop box. John kraft will work with him on this.
  • John- a WASA card refund day will be planned for those who do not want to keep or sell their cards.

Old Business

  • Spring Teams and schedules are made for Recreation. In House will report at April meeting.
  • WASA logo- Jamie presents logos created by Blue Sombrero. Board approves new logo. Jamie will email Tut the results and request a pdf. Copy.
  • Hands on Soccer: Otto Orf- Will present a contract.
  • Akron Rugby Club- Requesting to use the fields Saturday July 26,2008 The board will agree with the condition of the field being taken into consideration.
  • Liberty FC-Tavi Muresan-Spring season adult fields.May 31 7pm.June 6-8 playoffs.
  • GSA Camp-John Johnson-Offering soccer camp week of July 21-25,2008
  • Rick Rodgers will inquire with the city in regards to having sponsors put signs up at the fields.

New Business

  • WASA street banner- Mike F. has secured the dates of Oct 7th-Nov. 3rd for the banner being hung. It will also be hung up at the concession stand to announce registration. Rick requests help with lettering.
  • WASA Board Meeting with GSA- date TBA

Open Discusson

  • Wadsworth High School Girls Soccer- Ron Mendel- wants use of the fields 8-4-08 through 8-22-08. For scrimmages on 8-7 & 8-16 he requests 2 adult fields from 11a-1p. The board will consult with Dave W. on schedule of fields and get back to Ron M. after the GAASA Meeting.
  • Dave discussed questions about the fee schedule.

Announcements

  • NYSCA- Don Ferguson is asking the board to take a look at the Volunteer Coach Training being offered by NYSCA at Steiner Youth Center March 15th, 2008. Wadsworth City has a resolution to suggest that all coaches using city fields be certified through NYSCA. The cost is $20 and may be reimbursable. Mike will send out email to all coaches letting them know that it is not mandatory, but may be beneficial.
