The Litchfield Soccer Club (the “Club”) is a non-profit community-based organization devoted to providing a positive experience for boys and girls of all ages in learning, developing and understanding the game of soccer.  By virtue of its affiliation with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association, the Club is a member of a much larger soccer community, and therefore its players are members of this world community.

Players will grow within the program at a pace they are comfortable with and will meet levels of competition based upon their experience and skill level.  While promoting good team building, the Club also places a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play.  Ultimately, the Club’s job is to make the game fun, and instill in young players a lifelong passion for the sport!

The Club is affiliated with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA), Northwest District.  CJSA is a division of US Youth Soccer Association and US Soccer Federation.  As a not-for-profit organization, charitable contributions to the Club are tax-deductible—in accordance with §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC).

  Minimize   Club Policies

The following policies have been adopted by the club and are administered at the local level.  They supersede any similar policy at the District or State level.

1) Double Rostering

Double-rostering of a player is at the discretion of the Club.  Double-rostering may be implemented within the club only to aid the club in fielding additional teams to provide more children a place to play, who otherwise would not be able to participate in a given season.  A player cannot be double-rostered with a second team if that said player would cause another child not to be able to participate in the given season.  The decision of the club is on a season by season basis.

2) Player Placement

Players will be placed on teams based on their school grade.  Players that are placed on other teams because of the need of the club will only be moved after written confirmation has been received from the player's parent.

3) Nipper Starting Age

Players will be allowed to participate in the Nipper's program the fall season that they begin Kindergarten, as defined by the Litchfield Public School system.

4) Referee Class Reimbursement

All Litchfield players or adults that complete the USSF Referee class and receive a passing grade will have their class fee reimbursed by the club.

5) Residency

Litchfield is defined as the communities of Litchfield, Bantam, Northfield and Milton.
Litchfield Soccer is open to children from Litchfield and surrounding towns.  All children can play in the K-3 programs.  In the travel programs, priority is given to Litchfield residents who register on time.

If a tryout for a team has to be conducted because there are too many children for one team, the non-Litchfield players will be removed from consideration first.  If a tryout is conducted to divide an age group into two teams, the non-Litchfield players will be eligible.

6) Registration Deadlines

Registration deadlines will be upheld.  No walk on registration are permitted.

7) Team Makeup

When are too many players for a single team and either some members need to be moved to another team, or cut, tryouts will be held to place the players.  The tryouts will be run by members of the Litchfield Soccer Club staff and coaches from teams not in question.  The placement of the players on teams will be based on ability.  Players who do not participate in the tryout will be placed on teams at the board’s discretion.

8) Zero Tolerance

The club maintains a zero tolerance policy
