HARP Improvement Plans

One of the main goals of the HARP Board is the improvement and expansion of the existing facilities. These are the current plans, though subject to change.

2008/2009 Upcoming Projects:

- Plant new trees around the facility
- Replace the fence around the upper playground, enclosing it adding gates.
- Pave the Camelot Court parking lot
- Add two Rough Riders to the upper playground
- Repair the tennis court cracks, fix low spots and resurface 

2007 Projects in Progress

Project #1
- Relocate lower fields #3 to resolve a water/sunlight problems
- Add a walking trail around Fields #2/#3 (1/4 mile)
- Add a pavilion and tot lot near Field #3 and the parking lot
- Replace the storm water drainage area between Field #2 and the Practice Soccer Field (near Rt. 851)

Project #2 - Community Building Addition & Renovation
- Add an addition onto the front and side of the building
- Add a small meeting room (estimated to hold up to 30 people)
- Add a residential kitchen (stove, refrigerator, cabinet space)
- Add a unisex, handicap accessible bath room
- Relocate/Expand the Recreation Board office
- Install floor/walls/ceiling to the basement and create additional storage
- Install Air Conditioning to the main building and to the additional section
- Repair the gym walls, fixing holes etc..
- Install low-pile carpet to walls, adding protection and improving the sound in the building
- Install a new main entrance with a handicap/wheel chair ramp.
- Improve the accessibility to the side entrance for handicap/wheel chair access
- Paint the ceiling of the main building
- Replace the main ceiling lights in the main building
- Relocate storage of cleaning supplies to a new supply closet.

Funding for these projects has been provided by:
- Department of Conservation and Natural Resourced Grant
- York County Government / York County Commissioners
- Hopewell Township / Hopewell Township Supervisors
 

Completed Project List

2007 - Replace the basketball rims/nets @ Camelot Court
2007 - Remove old dead trees along Rt. 851
2007 - Replace the nets destroyed by vandals
2006 - Painting of the fences around the facility
  (FYI: There are 566 Sections of fence at this facility and a section is 5 feet high and 10 feet long)
2006 - Replaced the park benches in the playground
2006 - Installed Barbeque Grills near the pavilion
2006 - Resurfaced the floor in the concession stand
2006 - Replace/upgrade playground equipment, install new see-saw
2006 - Upgraded outdoor lighting around the facilities
2006 - Installed new outdoor lighting on the scout house
2006 - Replaced the window shelves/ledges at the concession stand
2006 - Painting of the wood poles around the property
2006 - Replaced the siding on the Scout House
