* Frequent errors found with paperwork:

On the 2nd page of the Parental consent form, please be sure to initial where indicated, check #6 for scholastic fitness and be sure your child signs the bottom.

On the bottom of the PBGYAA registration form, please be sure the right hand portion (Fathers name, Mother's name and birth date) is completely filled out as this is required for registration.

Items your player will need for the season

Medallions  is our local vendor for most of the items you need, please be sure to bring your Gator Card for the discount!!  They are also very knowledgeable of our program's needs and will be able to assist you in your purchase.  They have 3 convenient locations: 9850 Highway A1a Alt, PBG; 6761 W Indiantown Rd, Jupiter; 2311 Broadway, Riviera Beach.

  • Football Cleats
  • 7 piece pad set - We recommend the sliders with the pockets for these pads, you can wash them all at the same time!!!!
  • White Football Practice Pants quantity is up to you based on how often you do laundry:)
  • Gator Blue Game Pants
  • Mesh practice Jersey (Color determined by team so if you do not know what team you are on, you will not need this until the second week of conditioning and can purchase later)
  • Gator Blue Game socks (optional, some kids prefer the no see socks and that is fine as well)
  • Mouthpiece (no mouthpiece, no play...no exceptions!!) Buy a few and keep them in your car as spares, you will be glad you did...

Conditioning Info

1.       The first day of practice is Saturday, August 1st.  Players will need to arrive by 9:45 for a 10:00 start.  The teams will be practicing until about 12:00-12:30.  All conditioning, practices and home games are at PGA Park on Northlake BLVD. The fields have been completely renovated and look fantastic! Please plan on heavy traffic that day as it is bound to be chaotic. Allow extra time to park. There will be no parking allowed at the entrance along the fence as this blocks traffic flow, so please follow road around to the parking lot and the new entrance to the park.

2.       Upon arrival to the practice on Saturday, please report to your designated field location for your team. Attached you will find a map of the team practice locations for PGA Park.  Teams will practice on the following fields:

Team Name

Field Number

TM White

3B

MM White

3A

MM Orange

3C

JPW White

1A

JPW Orange

1B

PW White

1C

JM White

2A-B

JM Orange

2B-C

If you are unsure which color team your son is on, please report to the area of your division.  One of the coaches will be able to tell you where you need to be.

3.       Players should wear shorts, tee-shirt and cleats. You should have been give an orange t shirt and blue gator shorts when you received your equipment.  They are to wear these Orange shirts and gator blue practice shorts for the first week of conditioning.  Please have them bring their helmets and mouth guards as well as they will be wearing their helmets for conditioning. No mouthpiece means no practice!!

4.      Any player that does not have all paperwork handed in before Saturday will NOT be allowed to practice NO EXCEPTIONS

5.       The first week of practice is for conditioning, once we complete the required ten hours of this phase, we will be practicing in full pads.  EVERY player must complete 10 hours of conditioning before wearing pads, then an additional 10 hours with pads.  If your child will miss any part of the first two weeks you must let your coach know.  Those hours MUST be made up and no player can start regular practice without having completed them.  It will be up to your head coach how those hours will be made up.  There is no substitute for those hours.  Outside camps or activities do not count toward the conditioning requirement.

7.       The boys will get water breaks during practice.  Please send your child with a lot of water. They will be working hard and keeping them well hydrated is of great concern to the league.

We look forward to seeing you,

PBG Tackle Football Board

Mandatory Online Registration - 2009 Tackle Football - Coaches Needed!!!

Dear Football Parents,

The 2009 football registration is already underway!!!!  The season runs from the end of July to the beginning of November (play-offs into December.) Please be sure to read through the football links thoroughly before registering so you have all the information needed to decide if tackle football is a sport for your child and to find out what division to place your child in.  The Pop Warner rules are very specific as to age and weight so please be sure the date of birth AND weight are suitable for your child.

Our program is growing rapidly so the demand for qualified coaches is tremendous.  If you are interested, please contact Tim Teahan at tateahan@comcast.net .  Please include the age group you would be interested in coaching and any coaching experience.

Without additional coaches, we will be limited to the number of teams we can field.

There is no greater experience than to help develop these young athletes in the sport they love.  Coaching requires a lot of hard work and commitment, but the reward is even greater.

Anyone wishing to volunteer or coach must have a Pop Warner Volunteer form completed and your FBI/state background check completed by July 1st.   The form is on the web-site and your self registration for the background check can be done at:

http://www.ssci2000.com/volunteerconsent.pdf

You will receive the forms necessary for Pop Warner via email with your online registration confirmation. Please be sure to bring the confirmation email and ALL of the completed & required documents.

Thanks,

Palm Beach Gardens Tackle Football

Fundraiser - Information - Wednesday, February 11, 2009 - Monday, June 15, 2009
For those families that are new to our organization, we have a mandatory fundraiser in order to play PBGYAA Tackle Football. We have decided to offer the "Gator Cards" again this year but with new vendors!!

We have set up registration to allow you to pay an additional $100 instead of participating this year. For those families that would rather fundraise to cover the additional cost to play, please be sure to select that option during the registration process.*************************************************************************************************** For those of you that are new to our program, below is the information from last year's fundraiser.************************************************************************************************** 1 set of 10 cards PER FAMILY this year!!!! The Gator Cards that we did last year were a huge success!!! We were able to raise enough money to purchase tackle sleds and other much needed equipment for our league for this year! We have added new vendors this year to make the cards even easier to sell. We also have asked Quarterdeck to allow us the ability to sell the cards in front of the restaurant and they have agreed. Quarterdeck is offering a free appetizer with purchase of a meal so this should make the card pay for itself and be super easy to sell. Here are the current vendors for this year so far: Brooklyn Bagel, Boulevard Restaurant, Gelato Grotto, Jupiter Lanes, CeJay’s, Medallions, 88Keys 15% off total Bill (including alcohol), Lutina’s, Quarterdeck – free appetizer, JJ Muggs 10%, Mondo's, Antonio's Pizza, Bella Cuchina, Camillis Pizza & Johnny Rockets!!
