Q: What is the difference between the last years camp and the NIKE camp?
A: I decided to sign on with NIKE for a number of reasons. First and foremost, our campers will each receive a free pair of shoes and a dri-fit t-shirt. Also, NIKE will also load us up with prizes for the campers. Each camper will also get an official NIKE evaluation of their games at the end of the week. NIKE also allows us to add the overnight option which we have not had in the past.
The mission of our camp has not changed. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and exciting atmosphere for our campers. We want them to learn to love the game, and to provide them with a foundation for future success.
WE TAKE ALL LEVELS OF PLAYERS. FROM BEGINNERS TO ADVANCE!!!
Q: Would it be repetitive for a camper to sign up for consecutive weeks of camp?
A: Not at all! We recommend that if campers are able, they sign up for more than one week to allow reinforcement of techniques. While each week will follow the same progression of skills instruction, our counselors ensure that repeat campers continue to learn, in a stimulating way, while being reminded of the tennis fundamentals.
Q: Where do I take my child on the first day of camp?
Ages: 5-10 Please go to the Clairmont Campus (SAAC)
Ages: 11-17 Please go to the Woodruff PE Center
Q: What happens when it rains?
WE WILL UTILIZE OUR BEAUTIFUL INDOOR TENNIS CENTER
Q: How many campers will be placed with each counselor?
A: We strive for a 6 to 1 camper - counselor ratio.
Q: My child has never played tennis before. Will there be other campers at her/his level? OR My child is 15. Will there be other campers at his/her age? etc.
A: We have something for everyone at our camp! We usually have about 1/3rd beginners (at all ages), 1/3rd intermediates (at all ages) and 1/3rd of the players (at all ages) are thinking about or just starting to play in tournaments. If during the course of camp, your child is not challenged enough or is not stimulated socially, please communicate with the on-site director any necessary adjustments can be made.
Q: I went through the online registration process and opted to pay by check. Where do I send the check and how will I know it was received?
A: Please send the check to: John Browning - Emory University Woodruff PE Center - 600 Asbury Circle - Atlanta, GA 30322. You will receive an email confirmation when your check is received.
