The Alpharetta Ambush Soccer Club will be offering additional(and optional) winter training sessions for the U8 and U10 recreation players. These will be broken out into seperate sessions for boys and girls.
The purpose of these sessions are to provide additional skill development opportunities for all recreation players in these 2 age groups(U8 and U10) and secondly to better identify, develop and prepare the recreation players who want to try-out for academy(select for younger ages) next year(Fall 2009 season). Players wishing to try-out for our academy teams next year(first opportunity starts at U9 for the Fall 2009 season) can benefit tremendously from the additional training.
Here is the information below about the pre-academy winter training sessions for boys and girls.
Time; 4:30-6:00 pm(girls) and 6:00-7:30 pm (boys)
Dates: November 14, 21 December 5, 11(Thursday), 18(Thursday) and January 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Location; November Webb Bridge Upper .December and January we will likely move to North Park.
Cost: $80 for 9 sessions(or $75 for 8 sessions).
The focus of the training will be on skill development especially dribbling. We will introduce team concepts especially passing and hopefully some limited tactical(where they are and should be on the field in relation to their teammates and opponents) awareness.
The training will utilize activities and games that result in continous movement and involvement and that develop appropriate skills. Small sided games(4 v 4) will also be used and we will introduce various options( 4 goal game, dribbling over the line to score etc.) to emphasize a certain tactic/skill.
