Augusta Arsenal '97 Gold's Phillip Tran has just returned from a trial with one of the world's great soccer clubs, West Ham United of the Barclay's English Premier League. Phillip was in London for ten days in mid March on a trial for the West Ham Academy as a result of the West Ham ID camp he attended last summer. Fourteen boys, ages 9-16, from all over the United States and Canada were selected from an intensive talent search process across North America. Phillip was the second youngest one of this group to be selected. After the ten day trial, three of the boys were selected to play in a game with the West Ham Academy before heading home. During the game against Crystal Palace, Phillip showed well, assisting on one goal and nearly missing another himself. Phillip has been invited back to West Ham Academy in London for more training and evaluation in the future. Congratulations on a great honor.
