The Metsa Memorial Developmental Goalkeeping Clinic
Sponsored by the Green Bay Lightning Soccer Club & Kristin Metsa Family
The purpose of this clinic is to teach and develop the skills of boys and girls (9, 10, 11 & 12 year olds) to help them compete outside of a recreational program. The program will be open to both boys and girls with a passion for soccer and a willingness to improve their skills as a player.
This 3 week fall session will be instructed by WYSA (Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association) certified coaches through the Green Bay Lightning Soccer Club.
- Andy Steger St. Norbert College Men’s Head Soccer Coach, Former head boy’s coach Burlington HS and Preble HS. United States Soccer Federation D License
- Linda Vance United States Soccer Federation D License, Division I keeper at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, 15+ years premier level coaching experience
- Dan Fischer St. Norbert College Men’s Assistant Coach, GBL coach 8 years, Division III keeper at St. Norbert College,
United States Soccer Federation E License
Lessons will place an emphasis on the basic technical skills needed for development by creating a solid foundation in the following areas:
- Fundamental Catching and Ball Control
- Deflecting and Boxing
- Breakaways and Distribution
Each goalkeeper should bring a notebook and a pen or pencil. Wear tennis shoes, NO soccer cleats in gym.
Where: Aurora BayCare Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, 1160 Kepler Dr (next to the Medical Center)
When: Monday evenings 7:00-8:30 November 23rd, 30th, and December 7th
Cost: $30 - Your fees will cover club costs and a t-shirt for each child
Registration Deadline is November 16th (Clinic limited to 25 participants)
