CDO Soccer Club takes great pride in educating local coaches and volunteers through in house initiatives, as well as the through regional and national licensing. In the past three seasons we have licensed over 40 coaches and assistants to a minimum of the NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma level, and have coaches who have gone on to complete USSF and NSCAA residential courses.

Nationally Licensed Coaches

- CDO Director of Coaching
- NSCAA Master Coach Diploma
-
NSCAA Premier License
- NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma
- Former Youth Coach for Newcastle United
- Arizona ODP 93 Girls Coaching Staff

Steve joined CDO in 2003 after moving to the area specifically to join the club training/coaching staff, having previous experience with Newcastle United, Major League Soccer's youth program and as a youth development officer in the British Virgin Islands. Steve has just graduated as one of only eleven coaches nationwide chosen for the inaugural NSCAA Master Coach Diploma, a year long coaching course and the pinnacle of the NSCAA coach education program.

Steve's claim to fame is somewhat unique - he guested as a soccer commentator on Caribbean television for the World Cup qualifier between Jamaica and El Salvador in 2000!

Erik Wolf (U14B United, U17B Apex)

- Former Sereno/Cisco AZ State Championship winning player

Erik joined CDO in 2004 as a trainer and member of the coaching staff, recently passing the NSCAA Premier course in June of 2009. Erik is well known with many of our high school age players as he also teaches history at Ironwood Ridge HS in Oro Valley.

Erik's claim to fame is that he is a former Arizona state champion in track, and turned down a track scholarship in order to play soccer...he got his priorities right!

Sean Watkins (U17G Select)

- Head Coach, Ironwood Ridge HS Girls, 2007-present
- T
SA Staff Coach, 2004-present
- Former Arizona ODP & YOP Staff Coach

Sean played an integral role in developing the boys program in particular at CDO Soccer Club during the early part of the decade, and is now the head coach of the girls program at Ironwood Ridge High School inheriting a team with a losing record (6-7-1) and turning it around dramatically in the past two seasons, with a 12-10-2 record in 2007-8, and an impressive 19-5 in 2008-9.

Dan Tarquin (U18G Tigers)

- NSCAA National Diploma
- Head Coach, Marana HS Girls, 2007-present

Dan joined CDO Soccer Club originally to coach the U13B in 2007, and has since gone on to pass his NSCAA Advanced Regional and National Licenses, now coaching the U18G Tigers. As the head coach of the girls program at Marana High School, he has taken the team from a heavy losing season to .500 in his first year, and then to the best record in school history, (8-8-5 in 2007-8, 14-6-2 in 2008-9). Dan coached the girls to two tournament victories in the Amphi and Palo Verde Invitationals last season, the first soccer championships in school history.

Apart from being a soccer coach, Dan's claim to fame is that he is a drummer in a band that plays all over the Tucson area!

Bill Bock (U13G Pumas)

Bill came on board at CDO Soccer in 2007 with his then U11G team, and promptly took to club soccer very well with a hugely successful first season, followed up last year with the Pumas being the top finisher from Tucson in the AZ State League.

Bill is a great example of how CDO Soccer Club helps educate volunteer coaches, having passed both his NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma (2007), and National Diploma (2008). Bill hopes to take the Advanced National Diploma course in 2010.

Bill's claim to fame is that he is a competitive cyclist and helped his team win a 24 hour challenge earlier this year.
