(Sep. 8)  Emory University - Ben Schlang scored the 20th golden goal™ in school history on Friday, helping the Eagles to a 2-1, double-overtime victory over Virginia Wesleyan College. Schlang scored the goal in the 109th minute of the match, heading a ball into the goal off a free kick. The golden goal™ was the first by an Emory freshman since former Eagle Matthew Levine notched one during the 2000 season. Schlang also assisted on a goal during the Eagles™ 2-0 victory over the 25th-ranked University of Mary Washington on Sunday. The forward is second on the squad this season with four goals, three assists, and 11 points this season. His performance during the year has helped the ninth-ranked Eagles to a 4-0-0 record.
