Introducing the 2010 Finalists for Soccer Administrator of the Year (In Alphabetical Order)
Billie Bradshaw- Lawrence County Youth Soccer
She has contributed a great deal of time, effort and support to encourage soccer among the youth of Lawrence County. My children have benefited from her efforts for the past 3 years and due to this our family has a newfound love of the sport. Soccer has a present and a future in Lawrence County because of Billy's commitment.
Christa Casleton- Divine Mercy Soccer Club
Christa has been involved with our soccer club for the last 5 years as a coach, club registrar, and party planner. Christa has coached every season for the last 5 years and has in fact coached 2 teams for the previous 3 seasons. Christa is the type of person that cannot say no when it comes to the development of our young soccer players. All of this while managing her career and family life with her husband and two children. As the previous club president, I had the distinct honor of working with Christa over the course of many seasons and I have to say that every club should be so blessed to have a "Christa" amongst their administrators. Christa's enthusiasm, integrity, energy, and overall cheerful nature makes her a pleasure to work with and the driving force in the success of our club.
Pete DiBernardo- Mako Soccer Club
Pete is our President. As the former Vice President, he was thrown into the position when he the former President resigned. He walked into disorganization, several resignations on the Board of Directors, and a lot of complaints from the members about various things. Soon after he took over, it was discovered that our on-line registration company, Count Me In, had stolen $60,000 from our Club, a scam that affected a number of youth sports organizations across the nation. Pete found the right people to join our Board of Directors, and he not only led us out of that loss, but built the Club's reputation beyond anyone's expectations in a very short time.
Tammy Momohara- Hawaii ODP
For the last 5 years I've been coaching with the Hawaii Olympic Development Program I've been assigned to the 94 Boys age group. Tammy has been my Administrator from the beginning. Having players from each Island is a logistical nightmare for anyone that has to deal with 40 plus players and families. Tammy has put in numerous hours, late nights, early mornings and logged many travel miles to ensure that not only did I have the players and required information, but she has always been able to provide all the players and parents with anything they needed almost immediately. Within the last year, she became the only one in her household to hold a job, and while her workload, and stress levels, rose her commitment to our team and program was unrelenting. Please consider Tammy for this award as without her, there are roughly 30 boys that would not have had the experience of the ODP program and the opportunity to play outside the state of Hawaii.
Debbie Reeder- LCGSA
Debbie is the heart and sole of our league. While her title is Secretary she does so much more. She oversees the uniforms, schedule changes, practice fields... Most of all she is passionate about the league and the girls that play in it. She loves the girls and does whatever it takes to get the best for them. Without her and her dedications the league would not be the success that it is.
Natalie (Nikki) Richardson- BCYSA
We have gone from around 440 registrants Fall of 2009, to approximately 634 registrants this Spring of 2010 mainly due to the efforts of Nikki in streamlining our process and then getting the word out to the community about what we are and how we benefit the Kids of Bay County.
Ed Ryan- New England Aztec
Ed Ryan is one of the hardest working people I know. He works full-time for our club all on a volunteer basis. He loves the game of soccer and he loves coaching the kids. We have all adopted him as our surrogate grandfather and appreciate all of his time and devotion to the members of the club.
Gary Sperlazza- Wallingford Youth Soccer League
Gary has given his time and energy to the WYSL for many years and several of those years after his girls had moved on to high school and college programs. For the thankless job of Registrar Gary always does everything necessary to enable players young and old to play soccer.
Sabrina Thoren- Lander Strikers
A dedicated group of parents moves soccer forward in the small town of Lander, in central Wyoming. But, none as dedicated as Sabrina Thoren. Sabrina has quietly worked behind the scenes of our soccer club to ensure that all i's are dotted and t's crossed as it relates to registration, rostering and overall organization. She has organized tournaments, our board meetings and provided a commendable model of hard work and strong morals for her own 4 kids to follow. She has received very little acknowledgement for her dedication and countless volunteered hours. She's excellent with players and parents and without her care and service our program would have withered long ago. Given our limited resources, it has been difficult to show her our true appreciation. Your offering could make it possible for us to give her a proper thank you and the recognition that she deserves and that others would certainly applaud.
Laura Tucker- HC United
Laura is a part-time employee that puts in full time hours in excess of 30-40 hours week on top of being a social worker for the local school district, which is her real full-time job. She loves HC United and it's members and is the backbone of our club.
Marla Turner- First Coast Soccer Association
Marla is the heart and soul of our Club. She is the central point for all information, processes, and procedures. I have served as our President, Treasurer, and Board member for the past 6 years and no one can come close to being able to put their finger on just about any aspect of our Club and its history or needs like Marla can. We would be completely lost without her.
Steve Welter- Bay Area Soccer
Steve is an outstanding volunteer for our association. He takes on tasks in all parts of our association. No challenge is too big or too small. His energy is over the top and contagious. He is deeply appreciated by everyone around the league.
