 Using Hyperlinks in Web Content

Hyperlinks allow readers to cross-link related documents both within your own website as well as external websites. There are also a few best practices that will help keep your hyperlinks standardized and functional.

Creating a Hyperlink:

When you are editing an HTML Module, the globe and chain icon will serve as your hyperlink button.  Simply highlight those words you wish to link, click on the globe icon, and enter the desired destination URL address.  Conversely, the globe icon with a broken chain will remove the hyperlink for you.

Best Practices for Hyperlinks:

First of all, all hyperlinks should avoid vague link text such as "Click Here" or "More..."  Secondly, all hyperlinks to internal web pages should include the name (title) of the linked document as part of the screen text.  Thirdly, all hyperlinks should be clearly differentiated from the rest of the body text.
