We wanted you all to be aware of a tragedy involving the family of one of our club partners, the Chicago Fire Juniors in Mississippi. The club recently posted the details of a car accident involving three siblings at this year's World Cup in South Africa. The details of the accident can be found at www.mississippifirejr.com, and we have included below how you can make a contribution to the Murphy family.
More information as to what the family is dealing with:
The Murphy family is incurring extremely high costs as they work to bring their injured and deceased children home to Lafayette, where they reside. In particular, the family must charter an intensive-care jet to fly Brian back to America, which is estimated to cost approximately $300,000 and is not expected to be covered by insurance. There are also concerns about other health-care and repatriation costs, as it is unclear what will be covered by the family’s insurance policy, since they were in another country when the accident took place.
Blue Sombrero has made a contribution to show our support for the Murphy family and the Chicago Fire Juniors community. We hope that you will consider helping by making a contribution as well, and by keeping them in your prayers during this very difficult time.
For those who would like to make a contribution to assist the Murphy family, a fund has been set up through Home Bank. Contributions can be dropped off at any Home Bank location (account number must be included) or mailed to:
