 Debit Card Declined Transactions

by Melanie Mota on 07.28.10 at 10:44 AM Bookmark and Share

Debit Cards are different than Credit Cards, especially when it comes to a declined transaction! The main reason for a card to be declined is the address and/or zip code on the order does not match the address/zip code on the credit card. The card is not actually charged but a hold is placed on the available balance for your account. Your banking institution determines the length of the hold and it may take several days for the hold to be released.

It is important to note that multiple attempts/declines could create additional holds on your available balance. If you have any questions about a declined Debit Card transaction we recommend you call your bank directly.
