It’s that time of the year again! As we approach the 5th Annual Soccer Administrator’s Day, May 20th, we here at Blue Sombrero like to take the time to recognize, celebrate, and reward the people who work behind the scenes to keep their clubs running smoothly and the kids out on the fields playing.
They are the club admins working past midnight every night making sure each player has been placed on the correct team. They are the treasurers working hard behind the scenes finalizing budgets and pulling reports up for the next day’s board meeting. They are the registrars printing player passes and answering phone calls long past closing time.
They are the unsung heroes of the soccer community.
This year’s Soccer Administrator of the Year will receive an iPad 2 and a $100 Eurosport gift card! So join us in honoring Soccer Administrators everywhere by nominating your favorite soccer administrator, and then get the word out to your friends, family, teammates, coaches, and anyone else you can think of!
How it Works:
Step 1: Nominate your favorite soccer administrator by submitting either a written nomination or a video nomination, which will be posted on our YouTube Channel
- Nominations Open: TODAY May 3, 2011
- Nominations Close: May 18, 2011
Step 2: The Blue Sombrero Team will go through all of the nominations carefully and select a finalist group of administrators, based both on quality and quantity of submissions
Step 3: The winner will be selected and announced on May 20, 2011!

Soccer Administrator’s Day is a chance for everyone in the soccer community to celebrate, and reward all the hard work administrators do to keep their clubs running, teams formed, schedules created, rosters finalized, player passes printed, and the list goes on and on!
Every year, Blue Sombrero celebrates Soccer Administrator’s Day by holding a contest for the Soccer Administrator of the Year. Last year’s winner was Billie Bradshaw from Lawrence County Youth Soccer.
